vehicles from a few external websites that we have found to

vehicle site.
Junior
Solar Sprint (JSS) Program - is a classroom-based,
hands-on educational program for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade
students. JSS student teams apply math, science, and creativity
to construct model solar-powered cars and race them in interscholastic
competitions hosted within their schools or within their
states or regions. Hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Winston
Solar Car Team - is one of the leading high school
solar car education programs in the United States. Founded in
1990, the team has built and raced eight solar cars. The team
participated in three Australian World Solar Challenges, and
is the first U.S. High School to ever complete the race. The
team has earned First Place Classic Division in both the 2002
and 2004 Dell-Winston Solar Car Challenges.

Car Racing Competition Heats Up - article by
National Geographic online magazine outlining solar car
racing competitions. Includes information on the races and
requirements for joining.
2005
North American Solar Challenge (NASC2005) - is a
competition to design, build, and race solar-powered cars in
a cross-country event. Teams compete in a 2500 mile rayce from
Austin, Texas to Calgary, Alberta.
